Shubhanshu is a graduate student at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research is at the intersection of information science and social science. His research is especially focused in the field of Data Mining and Network Analysis. He finished my Integrated Bachelors and Masters degree in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2012. He was a fellow of Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) from 2007-2012.

Shubhanshu Mishra is a 3rd year PhD student at the iSchool of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently working as a Research Assistant with Jana Diesner and Vetle Torvik. He is working on projects at the intersection of Machine Learning, Text Network Analysis and Scholarly Data Mining.
He completed his integrated bachelors and masters in Mathematics and Computing from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) in 2012. During his undergraduate he was a fellow of the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, a prestigious fellowship for science students in India. His master thesis was on "Analysis of Social Media Data to identify Positive and Negatively influential people".[PPT]
Shubhanshu has been an active programmer and software developer for the last 8 years. He has acquired work experience as a software developer at leading companies like Citrix and Barclays Capital. He also worked as a research intern at the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore with Gloria Ng on Tagging-Singapore, a maps based mashup of Singapore tourism data.
He enjoys learning through online courses, programming and flying his quad copters, and playing with Machine Learning methods. He has recently developed an interest in deep learning. You can see some of his projects on his Github page.
Apart from technology, Shubhanshu likes being involved in volunteering opportunities and has volunteered at the Chicago Public Library. In IIT Kharagpur he was the President of the local chapter of AIESEC, the world's largest youth run not for profit organization. In his free time he loves updating his blog and writing poetry.
